Summary
Leadership role accountable for all engineering functions in the organization. Plans and directs all aspects of engineering activities at Summit Interconnect – Santa Clara. Ensures all engineering projects, initiatives, and processes are in conformance with organization's established policies and objectives. This position reports directly the VP/General Manager
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical guidance and /or training to engineering staff
- Coordinates with Technical staff to conduct evaluations, experiential runs.
- Prepares capital equipment needs assessment and prepares ROI for CapEx proposals.
- Takes technical leadership role during customer calls
- Evaluates process problems and prepares corrective actions using appropriate tools and methods for effective implementation of action plans.
- Advise company personnel in development, implementation, upgrading and maintenance of manufacturing process, including quality improvement management and program.
- Recommends alternative approaches which would optimize performance, facilitate fabrication, or improve reliability.
- Conducts independent technical investigations involving the application of new process techniques and equipment.
- Consolidates results of major process evaluation/ modification projects.
- Write process specifications to ensure that processes are compatible with manufacturing objective.
Qualifications and Skills
- Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering and 10 years of engineering experience.
- Must have at least 5 years of supervisory or managerial experience overseeing engineers and technicians.
- Must have at least 5 years of experienced in Printed Circuit Board manufacturing or closely related industries.
- Demonstrates knowledge of 8D corrective actions, 5s, Kaizen and continuous quality improvement methods.
- Demonstrates expertise in a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
- Demonstrates exceptional communication skills and ability to work effectively with personnel from various functions; operations, planning, procurement, maintenance, facilities and customer service
