Want to work in a fun and unique work environment? Redwine & Co. is seeking an experienced cook to join our team at our establishment's on-site food truck. Our primary need is for a part-time cook, but we will consider full-time for the right person. 

Position Details: As a Short Order Cook, you’ll work under the direct supervision of our Head Chef, assisting with food preparation, presentations, and overall kitchen sanitation. Working in our food truck can bring some challenges with hot summers, cold winters, and a busy, sometimes noisy, environment. We’re looking for someone adaptable and calm under pressure, with shifts managed by a small team of 1-2 people.

About Us: We are a family owned and operated bar, located in the heart of the Reading Bridal District. Our food service is providing by our on-site food truck. What's even better? This food truck doesn't take orders at the window - the bar staff handles it all.

We have been in operation since 2017 and business is growing We offer slightly elevated pub food that is easily executable. The kitchen closes at 10P on weekends and 9P on Sundays & Mondays. Additionally, we are always closed on the following holidays: Mother's Day, Easter, Father's Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve + Christmas Day.

Ideal Candidate Qualities:

  • Self-starter with a proactive approach to work
  • Outgoing personality with great communication skills
  • Able to multi-task efficiently in a fast-paced setting
  • Team player with a positive attitude

Responsibilities Include:

  • Food truck setup and closing procedures
  • Cooking and following recipes accurately
  • Stocking and preparing food as needed
  • Dishwashing and maintaining cleanliness
  • Following sanitation and food safety guidelines at all times
  • Prep of food items prior to food service
  • Prepare and cook our menu to order on the truck

Requirements:

  • Prior short order cook experience
  • Must be able to work weekends; we do offer flexible scheduling options
  • Be able to work in varying weather and temperature conditions
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs
  • Ability to use a knife
  • Ability to use a fryer and flat top grill
  • Able to follow instructions for recipes, sanitation guidelines and food safety guidelines
  • Individual must be a self-starter and able to self-direct
  • Prior short order cook experience highly preferred but we will train the right person
