Job Summary: The Procurement Manager is responsible for overseeing the procurement process, ensuring that all purchasing activities align with company objectives and budgets. This role involves developing and implementing procurement strategies, managing supplier relationships, and optimizing the purchasing workflow to enhance operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies to optimize costs and improve quality.
- Provides guidance and support to ensure effective procurement practices.
- Identify and evaluate suppliers, negotiating contracts and terms to secure favorable pricing and quality.
- Monitor market trends and industry developments to anticipate purchasing needs and adjust strategies accordingly.
- Collaborate with various departments to understand their procurement needs and align purchasing activities with organizational goals.
- Analyze inventory levels and forecast demand to ensure timely availability of materials and products.
- Implement and maintain procurement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations and standards.
- Prepare and manage the procurement budget, tracking expenditures and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers, assessing their performance and resolving any issues that arise.
- Prepare reports and presentations for senior management on procurement activities and performance metrics.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma Required; Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in procurement or purchasing, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain supplier relationships.
- Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in procurement (e.g., CPP, CPSM).
- Experience in a specific industry relevant to the company.
