Exciting Opportunity: CNC Machinist

Summary:

We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to set up and operate CNC machines, including both horizontal and vertical mills and lathes. If you are familiar with a wide range of production operations, this could be the perfect opportunity for you. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Setting up jobs according to prints and setup procedures, selecting appropriate feeds and speeds, and adjusting fixtures as needed.
  • Reading and interpreting complex prints, drawing sketches, and making recommendations for print corrections.
  • Ensuring the accuracy of inventory transactions and completing job documentation.
  • Determining tooling and fixturing requirements or finding suitable substitutes.
  • Conducting in-process inspections to ensure that quality meets or exceeds customer expectations.
  • Working closely with multiple departments to complete products efficiently.
  • Utilizing all communication channels to share information quickly and accurately.
  • Demonstrating flexibility to work in other departments as required.
  • Maintaining a strong focus on safety.

Work Environment:

  • Non-controlled warehouse environment

Responsibilities:

  • Operate and set up CNC machines
  • Perform in-process inspections
  • Complete and maintain documentation
  • Collaborate across departments
  • Ensure safety and quality standards

Skills:

  • High school diploma required
  • Effective communication skills (verbal and written) with all organizational levels
  • Strong math, measurement, and comprehension skills
  • Proficiency in reading basic prints, drawings, charts, and graphs
  • Understanding of manufacturing orders, routings, and other relevant forms
  • Competence in using production equipment, hand tools, and testing devices
  • Good mechanical aptitude, along with analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Excellent planning, prioritizing, organizing, and attention to detail
  • Computer literate
