Graf Research Corporation is hiring Software Engineers that can contribute to development of linux-first cross-platform desktop applications.  This is an on-site full time position at any one of our Blacksburg, VA, Atlanta, GA or Dayton, OH offices - we are not currently seeking remote or temporary assistance.  We are open to candidates at multiple levels as determined by experience and the number of “should have” and “nice-to-have” qualifications below. Applicants for this role must be U.S. Citizens.

Must Have

  • Proficiency in C/C++ and Python
  • Experience developing for Linux and Windows environments
  • Ability to perform development activities for moderately complex software, including design, implementation, maintenance, testing, and documentation of the software
  • Attention to detail with respect to code quality along with good code organization and management skills
  • Ability to work both individually and in distributed multi-disciplinary development teams
  • Ability to learn quickly and to collaborate with a geographically distributed team
  • Verbal and written communications skills
  • The X-factor: the ability to recognize the problem that is not yet solved and envision the solution that does not yet exist.
  • US Citizenship

Should Have

  • BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or similar field
  • Application UI/UX design experience
  • Experience integrating multiple applications together through APIs
  • Experience writing file parsers
  • Proficiency across a range of programming languages including C++, Python, and Rust
  • Experience working within an Agile development framework (e.g., Scrum)
  • Experience writing and maintaining unit testing
  • Experience performing code review
  • Proficiency with common design patterns
  • Willingness and ability to pursue US DoD security clearance

Nice-to-Have

  • Experience developing and releasing commercial software products
  • Software development team leadership experience
  • Experience soliciting software or data problem requirements
  • FPGA or digital design skills and Verilog language experience
  • Experience interacting with and/or developing electronic design automation software for digital logic development, test, and verification
  • Natural language processing experience
  • Current US DoD security clearance

Location - Blacksburg, VA, Atlanta, GA, or Beavercreek, OH

Travel Requirements - No specific travel requirement, but candidates capable of traveling to perform technical presentation and customer interaction tasks will be given special consideration.
