Position Overview:

The Adirondack Club is looking for enthusiastic and responsible Assistant Childcare Staff to join our team. This role is open to candidates aged 15 and older who are interested in gaining experience working with children. While prior experience is a plus, it’s not required—we are more focused on finding individuals who are eager to learn, adaptable, and patient. This position supports our Childcare Leads and helps create a fun, safe environment where children can play, explore, and grow.

Key Responsibilities:

· Child Engagement: Support children in various activities, from playtime to structured learning exercises, ensuring they are having fun in a safe, welcoming environment.

· Team Support: Assist Childcare Leads by following guidance on group activities, maintaining the space, and ensuring children’s needs are met.

· Safety & Cleanliness: Help maintain a clean and safe environment by following daily cleaning routines and assisting with set-up and clean-up of activities.

· Positive Interactions: Build positive relationships with children, encouraging kindness, cooperation, and respect in all activities.

· Growth & Development: Show a willingness to learn new skills, adapt to the needs of the children, and provide additional support as needed.

Qualifications:

· Age Requirement: Must be at least 15 years old.

· Experience: Experience with children (e.g., babysitting, helping younger siblings) is a plus but not required.

· Skills: Patience, adaptability, and a positive attitude are essential.

Schedule:

· School Weeks: high school staff Childcare Shifts typically occur only on Saturdays, from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM as they are in school typically during our weekday hours.

· School Vacation Weeks & Summer Months: Shifts are generally from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM, Monday through Saturday.

· Summer Availability: During summer vacation, Assistant Childcare Staff are expected to be available for at least two shifts per week, Monday through Saturday.
