About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Prep Cook / Cook to join our team in the Accommodation and Food Services industry. As a Prep Cook / Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of dishes, ensuring that they are of high quality and meet our customers' expectations. You will work closely with our Executive Chef to execute menus and recipes and ensure that all food is prepared in a timely and efficient manner. Your attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment will be essential to your success in this role. Ultimately, you will play a key role in providing our customers with an exceptional dining experience.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Cook or similar role
  • Ability to speak and read English fluently
  • Manual dexterity and ability to stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to climb stairs and move objects as needed

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience as a cook
  • Formal culinary training or education
  • Knowledge of food production techniques and trends

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook a variety of dishes, ensuring that they are of high quality and meet our customers' expectations
  • Collaborate with our Executive Chef to execute menus and recipes
  • Ensure that all food is prepared in a timely and efficient manner
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment
  • Adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines

Skills:

In this role, you will utilize your skills in food preparation, manual dexterity, and ability to stand for extended periods of time. You will also need to be able to read and speak English fluently, and have the ability to climb stairs and move objects as needed. Additionally, any experience in a leadership role or formal culinary training will be beneficial to your success in this position. Your attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment will be essential to providing our customers with an exceptional dining experience.


SUMMARY of Duties

The Cook/prep cook is responsible for preparing food in accordance with the approved menu, current standards, guidelines, and regulations with established procedures, and as may be directed by the Executive Director and/or Culinary Services Director to assure that quality food service is always provided.

Work Experience Qualifications

  • Prefer at least 1 year experience in food preparation and in safe handling of food and equipment
  • Ability to read, write and speak the English language
  • Ability to follow approved, standardized recipes and menus for regular and therapeutic diets
  • Ability to make independent decisions and work without supervision
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must Be Flexible AM/PM

Educational Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred
  • Knife Skills required
  • Baking Skills required
  • Cooking Experience required
