Job Summary:

Seeking a senior-level engineer with extensive on-premises and cloud networking experience to join the Avenu IT Infrastructure and Security Team. Responsible for planning and executing IT projects to support business objectives and managing operations and security across Avenu's enterprise and client hosting environments. This role requires strategic thinking and hands-on technical expertise in cloud and network operations, with a focus on scalability, security, and efficiency.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with business units and clients to gather detailed requirements.
  • Clarify system specification, understand work practices and the nature of business of the requestor and stakeholders.
  • Plan project timelines and track progress of projects, incidents, and tasks.
  • Design, deploy, and maintain systems across multi-cloud and on-premises environments.
  • Contribute to process refinement and team methodology, emphasizing documentation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field and 10+ years’ experience.
  • Prior experience leading and coordinating matrixed, technical and functional teams.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, delivering exceptional results.
  • Logical problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Quick learning capability and confident decision-making.
  • Excellent customer service, organizational, and time management skills.

  • LAN/WAN networking (including VMware VeloCloud SD-WAN).
  • Cloud networking (Azure and AWS, including VPN, routing, security groups, load balancers).
  • Cisco (ASA/Firepower) and Palo Alto Firewalls.
  • Azure security and identity solutions.
  • Experience with data center networking and virtualization (VMware vSphere).
  • Proficiency in networking diagnostic and monitoring tools.
  • Hands-on experience with Cisco LAN equipment and networking protocols (OSPF, EIGRP, BGP).

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Additional Technical Skills (Highly Desired)

  • Scripting languages such as Python.
  • Microsoft Active Directory (AD), Azure AD, and ADFS.
  • IT Service Management (ITSM) solutions like ServiceNow.
  • Endpoint security solutions and file systems.
  • Azure IaaS, app migration, and Azure database fundamentals.
  • ARM Templates, CloudFormation, or Terraform for infrastructure deployment.

Certifications (One or More Desired)

  • Advanced vendor certifications in data center domains.
  • Azure Cloud Platform certifications.
  • CCIE (Routing/Switching/Security/Data Center), CCNP (Cloud/Data Center/Routing/Switching).
  • AWS Certified Advanced Networking.
  • VCP (VMware Certified Professional).
