Senior Controls Engineer

A custom automation equipment manufacturer specializing in automated equipment is seeking a Senior Controls Engineer to join its project team. This role involves designing and programming advanced automation solutions for a wide range of custom manufacturing equipment, used to handle packaging containers such as bottles, cans, and other small containers in production environments.

The Senior Controls Engineer will collaborate with engineers, project managers, and production staff to develop new equipment prototypes. Responsibilities include creating PLC logic, advanced motion control, and HMI programs entirely from scratch for each unique project. Additionally, this role includes designing electrical schematics using AutoCAD Electrical and supporting the assembly team in building control panels.

This engineer will also work closely with clients to review project plans, exchange integration details, and formulate installation strategies. While travel is minimal, approximately 10%, some onsite client meetings and installation support will be required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop PLC logic, advanced motion control, and HMI programs from scratch.
  • Design electrical schematics using AutoCAD Electrical.
  • Collaborate with assembly teams to build and test control panels.
  • Manage multiple projects involving custom equipment prototypes.
  • Communicate with clients to ensure seamless integration and installation planning.
