Senior Java/AWS Engineer with solid DevOps focus

This position requires solid Java Development experience, DevOps experience, and GitLab experience., as well as specific tools for CI/CD pipeline. 

This is a full-time remote position.

We are seeking a Senior-Level DevOps AWS Engineer with solid Java background to help develop, automate, and manage our CI/CD configurations and pipelines, who can support the team and seamlessly adapt to the team culture and remote work environment. Must have excellent verbal communication skills.

This is a Senior Level, but not a management position. Solid 10+ years working experience preferred.

The person selected will work with an established team of professionals (Software Developers, QA, BA, etc.). It requires someone who has a strong hands-on development background and someone with strong GitLab expertise, strong AWS, and Java skills, who can utilize tools to help build pipelines for CI/CD automation.

This position requires GitLab experience and Java as the main tools utilized by the team.

This role involves supporting both internal and external stakeholders with client-side tools, troubleshooting back-end processes, and -scheduling and implementing frequent releases. The person selected for this position must be able to effectively engage with other team members in a remote setting. Demonstrate the ability to lead team efforts by attending meetings, communicate in a timely manner to stakeholders and team members, and deliver tasks on time.

Responsibilities and Qualifications:

· Expertise in Tools and Methodologies: Proficiency in Terraform, GitLab, Fargate, Packer, and CI/CD best practices.

· AWS Services Proficiency: Experience with AWS services including CloudWatch, EC2, ECS, Lambda, DynamoDB, SQS, SNS, and KMS.

· AWS CLI: Skilled in developing and using the AWS Command Line Interface (CLI).

· DevSecOps Principles: Strong understanding of DevSecOps principles and best practices.

· Cloud Security: Knowledge of cloud security concepts, tools, and automation.

· Programming Languages: Proficiency in multiple programming languages, including strong Java, and Node.js, Python, and Bash.

· Software Development: Ability to develop custom software and scripts as needed.

· Support and Monitoring: Assist production staff in monitoring daily batch processes, reviewing logs, and troubleshooting issues.

· Preferred Experience: Experience with SQL Server monitoring and performance optimization is preferred.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in IT or related field preferred
- Proven experience in cloud security concepts, tools, and automation
- Proficiency with AWS services

-Requires GitLab experience and Java as the main tools utilized by the team
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools
-SQL Server monitoring and performance optimization is preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
