Location: Pecan Health in Sandy, UT
Job Type: Full-Time (5 days per week)
Overview:
Pecan Health is seeking a skilled and compassionate Nurse Practitioner (NP) to fulfill two primary roles: providing care to patients seeking metabolic health optimization and conducting physical health assessments for U.S. military service members. There is potential for ownership and profit share for the right candidate, offering an exciting opportunity for growth within the practice.
Responsibilities:
Metabolic Health Support and Chronic Disease Care (3 days per week):
- Provide personalized care to patients seeking metabolic health support, focusing on lifestyle optimization and chronic disease care management or reversal.
- Work with patients to create tailored treatment plans to address weight management, metabolic syndrome, insulin resistance, and other chronic conditions.
- Educate patients on the importance of nutrition, exercise, stress management, and other lifestyle factors to improve their metabolic health.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans as needed to optimize outcomes.
- Adjust medications as needed for optimization and potential removal.
Physical Health Assessments for U.S. Military Service Members (2 days per week):
- Conduct thorough physical health assessments for U.S. military service members, ensuring adherence to military health standards and protocols.
- Perform routine exams, including vital signs, cardiovascular, respiratory, musculoskeletal, and general health screenings.
- Document assessment results clearly, ensuring all records are maintained in compliance with HIPAA and military guidelines.
- Provide referrals or recommendations for follow-up care as needed.
Qualifications:
- Current Nurse Practitioner (NP) license in the state of Utah.
- Experience in conducting physical exams.
- Experience or training in women’s health, specifically pap smears.
- Knowledge of hormone optimization therapy is preferred.
- Functional Medicine certification is preferred but will need to start certification within 1 year of employment.
- Candidates will also need to complete certification with the Society of Metabolic Health Practitioners within one year of employment.
- Strong understanding of metabolic health, chronic disease management, and lifestyle optimization strategies.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients in a compassionate, patient-centered manner.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills, with attention to detail.
