A manufacturing plant in Gainesville, FL is searching to add a Millwright to their maintenance team. The Millwright  is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and installing pneumatic and hydraulic systems, and electronic control systems within several pieces of machinery in the plant. This position will help support the Plant Manager with immediate mechanical maintenance needs and management within the maintenance team. 

 

What will the Millwright do? 

  • Troubleshoot and repair AC/DC electrical systems.
  • Read and understand schematics. 
  • Use electrical testing equipment such as Volt-Ohm meters, amp meters, and oscilloscopes to help troubleshoot and develop next steps. 
  • Responding to maintenance calls efficiently and reliably. 
  • Troubleshoot and identify equipment problems and direct other staff members on how to repair minor issues with said equipment.
  • Operating machinery following OSHA guidelines such as saws, forklifts, and trucks. 
  • Perform necessary safety audits and inspections ensuring safety regulations are being followed. 
  • Respond to maintenance calls and issues on call as needed. 
  • Act as primary electrical expert and primary point of contact for the plant on electrical needs.

You must have: 

  • High school diploma or GED and 8+ years of relevant, or equivalent combination of education and training. 
  • Ability to adapt and problem solve in changing situations. 
  • Experience working with high-voltage wiring.
  • Ability to lift up to 60 pounds. 

We would like you to have: 

  • Prior experience in a manufacturing environment. 
  • Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve using research and industry knowledge. 
  • Comfortability dealing with issues arising in high stress situations. 
  • Professional insight and knowledge into equipment on-site. 
  • Experience with heavy machinery such. 
  • Understanding of OSHA requirements and regulations.
