Lead Line Cook

This is a 30-40 plus hour on-site role for a Lead Line Cook for a very new restaurant. Cantina at the Club located in Destrehan, LA. Just a short trip from the city with free parking next the kitchen- your car will be there when you walk out and your windows will be intact. 6 minutes from the 10/310 freeways. We are getting increasingly busy and need one more strong person. Your responsibilities include but are not limited to assisting in food preparation, guiding kitchen staff, ensuring food safety standards, and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment. This position works directly with the KM. The below qualifications are a summary. We are willing to do some teaching with the exception of knife skills and food safety. This person is also in charge of family meal that is put up for staff daily. In addition to pay and shift meal we offer use of gym and other country club amenities and our hours of operation are Tuesday-Thursday 10:30-9, Friday 10:30-10, Saturday 10:30-3 (unless there's an event) and Sunday 10:30-3 we are not open on Mondays.

Requirements:

• Ability to run regular service in addition to banquet and off premise events
• Ability to follow recipes as well as collaborate on event menu items and specials
• Current Certification of food safety management via SERVSAFE and the ability to implement those processes irl
• Working knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to set and/or maintain pars, keep temp logs, waste logs, etc
