The Core Routing Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the core network infrastructure.

You will play a key role in ensuring the stability, performance, and scalability of our core routing systems, supporting our wireless and fiber networks.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: T

· Design, configure, and maintain the core routing infrastructure, focusing on performance, security, and scalability.

· Troubleshoot and resolve routing issues in a multi-vendor environment, optimizing for minimal downtime and maximum efficiency.

· Implement routing protocols such as OSPF, BGP, and MPLS to support our expanding fixed wireless and fiber network.

· Collaborate with network architects, operations teams, and vendors to implement upgrades and capacity planning initiatives.

· Perform network performance analysis and continuously monitor network health and stability.

· Develop and maintain documentation for network configurations, topologies, and operational processes.

· Participate in network security and disaster recovery initiatives, ensuring compliance with industry standards.

· Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and learning.

· Analyzes, recommends, and evaluates new hardware, software, and communications products for network compatibility and applicability.

Qualifications:

· Expertise with routing protocols such as OSPF, BGP, MPLS, and experience with network automation.

· Strong knowledge of carrier-grade routers, switches, and firewalls from vendors like Nokia, Cisco, Juniper, etc.

· Hands-on experience with fixed wireless and/or fiber networks is a plus.

· Deep understanding of IP addressing, subnetting, NAT, VPNs, and QoS.

· Familiarity with network security practices, including firewalls, VPNs, and DDoS mitigation.

· Experience with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools (e.g., Wireshark, SolarWinds, Nagios).

· Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

· Industry certifications such as CCNP, JNCIP, or equivalent are highly desirable.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in fixed wireless network operations and understanding of RF principles.
  • Familiarity with software-defined networking (SDN) and network function virtualization (NFV).
  • Knowledge of cloud infrastructure and integration with networking solutions.

 

Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field + 5-7 years of experience in core routing and network engineering
