Collaboration Opportunity: Seeking Experienced Architect
Architect Opportunity for High-End Residential Development in Austin, TX
We are looking for an accomplished architect to collaborate on a high-end residential development project in Austin, Texas. Our specialized team is focused on creating unique, luxury residences that embody both design excellence and structural integrity.
In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with the artistic director/designer, as well as the engineer, to transform design concepts into detailed architectural plans. The artistic director will set the initial design vision, defining features and vignettes for each room, providing some elevation details, and specifying materials and exterior concepts. Following this foundation, you’ll participate in dynamic, collaborative sessions with the artistic director and engineer to develop and refine the plans. You’ll play a pivotal role in advancing each project through critical stages—from regulatory compliance and permitting to thoughtful design adjustments—ensuring that each home meets the exceptional standards of our discerning clients.
This position is ideal for an architect who values the blend of creativity and precision in bespoke residential design, with a focus on quality, detail, and impact. If you’re ready to bring your experience to a project that combines business acumen with design vision, we’d welcome the opportunity to discuss how you can contribute to this distinctive development in Austin.
About Us
We are a focused team specialized in high-end residential projects. The Artistic Director brings over 20 years of industry experience, having led numerous high-end residential and select commercial projects. Known for a creative approach that seamlessly blends diverse styles, the Artistic Director is dedicated to crafting unique, personalized environments that perfectly capture each client’s vision.
Partnering with our Artistic Director, our Engineer offers over 15 years of expertise across commercial, mixed-use, and residential sectors, with a strong background in project management.
Project Overview:
The development has already broken ground, with land leveling underway and excavation begun for the retaining walls currently being constructed. The entryway is also taking shape, reflecting a modern style with an artistic touch. To simplify the building process for prospective land buyers, the developer is curating a list of recommended professionals, assembling teams so future homeowners won’t need to search for service providers. This will provide clients with a streamlined, turnkey experience when purchasing a lot.
· Here’s what our team will offer to clients:
• Design high-end residential homes from start to finish.
• Collaborate closely with homeowners to create designs that meet their requirements.
• Offer a complete design package, integrating architectural, structural, and landscape elements.
Your Responsibilities:
• Design Development: develop design concepts based on local requirements and zoning laws.
• Construction Documents: Prepare detailed drawings and specifications necessary for construction, including architectural and MEP details.
• Permitting: Assist in obtaining necessary permits from local authorities and ensure compliance with building codes and regulations.
• Project Coordination: Work with structural engineers, MEP consultants to integrate their work into the overall structural design.
• Construction Administration: Visit the site during construction to ensure progress aligns with plans, manage changes, and address any issues.
Additional Duties:
• Ensure project goals and quality standards are met.
• Maintain code compliance with local building codes and zoning laws.
• Manage the project budget, providing cost estimates to prevent overruns.
• Incorporate sustainable design practices, focusing on energy efficiency and material selection.
• Conduct regular site visits to ensure quality control and adherence to design intent.
What We Offer:
• A creative and collaborative working environment.
• Opportunities to work on exciting, high-end residential projects.
• A commitment to innovation and quality in design.
Requirements:
• A minimum of 5 years of experience as a licensed architect, ideally with a portfolio showcasing various types of projects.
• Proven track record of managing all phases of architectural projects, from concept development to completion, including budgeting, design, and project management.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture from an accredited institution.
• A portfolio that demonstrates diverse project experience, including a mix of design aesthetics and building types.
• Current architectural license in the state of Texas.
• Candidates must reside in Austin, Texas. This requirement supports familiarity with the local culture, climate, and client expectations.
How to Apply:
If you’re interested in this opportunity, please send your resume, portfolio, and a brief cover letter outlining your experience and approach to architectural design to info(at)artedesignstudio.com.
