A local growing precision metals manufacturing company is looking for a Lathe Machinist to join their team

If you are passionate about being a machinist/operator and have specific experience operating Lathe machines, we want to hear from you.

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent required. Any formal machinist or mechanical trade school education is seen as a plus.
  • Solid working knowledge of basic math functions including working with fractions and decimals, converting metric to standard and vice versa, etc.
  • Comfort working with technology and desire to learn
  • Strong attention to detail and highly organized
  • A proactive attitude

Desired Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience working with Lathe machines. Any Swiss experience is a plus.
  • 5+ years of Lathe machining experience is preferred, but consideration will be given to candidates with less machining experience if working on Lathe machines.
  • Ability to make programming changes if needed
  • Ability to use measuring instruments including but not limited to calipers, micrometers, depth gages, height gages, etc.
  • Ability to read and comprehend drawings, shop routing and blueprints.
  • Ability to read and interpret CNC programs.
  • 3D programing using SolidWorks, CamWorks, Fusion 360

Responsibilities include:

  • Setup/teardown of machine tools – load and/or unload jaws, fixtures, tooling as needed
  • Create and Download CNC programs or willingness to learn programming skills
  • Load and unload parts into/out of machines
  • Utilize measuring equipment for frequent inspection of in-process and finished products to control quality through the machining process. This Includes the use of micrometers, calipers, Pi tapes, rail gages, etc.
  • Monitor cutting tools and make adjustments as needed; make machine offsets, and index or change inserts as needed
  • Initiate tooling changes as needed to improve processes
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work environment

Schedule: Full-Time

Monday-Friday, 7:30am-3:30pm, occasional overtime requested

Pay: $23.00-$30.00/Hour depending on lathe machine experience
