Location: San Diego, CA 92121 (Sorrento Valley area)

What You Will Experience in This Position:

As a CNC Machinist, you will play a key role in driving the success of our manufacturing operations. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Performing all tasks in strict accordance with standard operating procedures and drawing specifications, working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Leading initiatives to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance quality by proactively identifying opportunities for process improvements.
  • Utilizing precision measuring tools (e.g., calipers, depth gauges, thread gauges, pin gauges) to ensure accuracy and quality in every part you create.
  • Expanding your skillset by learning machine set-ups and making minor program or machine adjustments without assistance.
  • Training other employees, including new hires, on basic and advanced machine operating techniques to ensure consistent performance across the team.
  • Communicating any operational, material, or parts issues that could affect production quality or timelines, while taking decisive action to resolve problems efficiently.
  • Performing routine operational checks to ensure tools, fixtures, and equipment remain in optimal working condition.
  • Performing physical tasks that may involve lifting up to 50 lbs and executing actions such as standing, walking, bending, crouching, and reaching.

You Have:

  • Experience: A minimum of 3 years of validated experience setting up and operating Vertical and Horizontal CNC Milling Machines.
  • Technical Skills: A solid understanding of machine controls, specifically with Haas and Fanuc CNC equipment. Proficient in reading and interpreting G-code and M-code for CNC programming.
  • Software Knowledge: Familiarity with Mastercam and SolidWorks to aid in machine set-up and troubleshooting.
  • Problem-Solving Ability: Strong troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve issues in real-time, adapting to unplanned situations in the manufacturing process.
  • Attention to Detail: Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, depth gauges) to ensure high-quality production.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with various teams, assist in training, and resolve production issues as they arise.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to perform tasks that require physical dexterity and strength, including lifting up to 50 lbs and engaging in various physical motions.
  • Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent
