CNC Programmer

This position will be responsible for leading machining operations while also programming CNC machines to produce precision parts according to specifications.
Responsibilities:
1. Leadership:
• Supervise and coordinate the activities of machining personnel.
• Provide guidance and support to team members to ensure adherence to production schedules and quality standards.
• Train new team members on machining techniques & safety protocols
2. CNC Programming:
• Develop CNC programs using AutoCAD, WoodWOP and RouterCIM based on engineering drawings and specifications.
• Optimize programs for efficiency, accuracy, and tool life.
• Troubleshoot and debug programs to ensure smooth machine operation.
3. Setup and Operation:
• Set up CNC machines including tooling, fixtures, and workpieces.
• Operate CNC machines to produce parts with tight tolerances.
• Monitor machine performance and make adjustments as necessary to maintain quality and productivity.
4. Quality Control:
• Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments to ensure compliance with specifications.
• Implement corrective actions to address deviations from quality standards.
• Document inspection results and maintain quality records.
5. Maintenance and Safety:
• Perform routine maintenance tasks on CNC machines to keep them in optimal condition.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote a culture of safety in the machining area.
• Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to appropriate personnel.
6. Continuous Improvement:
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to implement process enhancements.
• Participate in lean manufacturing initiatives and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
• Proven experience in CNC machining and programming, preferably in a leadership role.
• Proficiency using AutoCAD, WoodWOP and RouterCIM
• Strong technical skills in machining processes, tooling, and materials.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations in a manufacturing environment.
• Willingness to work flexible hours and adapt to changing priorities.
