Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Controls Application Engineer to design, develop, and support automation and control systems across various projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for programming and commissioning PLC/HMI/SCADA systems, developing custom control logic, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless project execution. This role requires a strong foundation in control systems design, PLC programming, and process automation, as well as a customer-focused mindset for handling system integration and application challenges.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, program, and implement PLC and HMI applications for automation and control systems.
  • Develop and configure SCADA systems to monitor and control complex industrial processes.
  • Work with project teams to design custom control solutions, including control logic, hardware layouts, and integration of sensors, actuators, and other control devices.
  • Conduct system simulations, testing, and troubleshooting to validate functionality and optimize performance.
  • Commission control systems at client sites, including system start-up, debugging, and fine-tuning.
  • Provide technical support for installed systems, including remote troubleshooting and on-site visits when required.
  • Collaborate with electrical and mechanical engineers, project managers, and clients to ensure control system solutions meet project requirements and customer expectations.
  • Develop and maintain project documentation, including control system schematics, wiring diagrams, and operation manuals.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and control system standards to ensure the company’s solutions remain innovative and compliant with industry best practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in control system design, PLC programming, and automation applications.
  • Proficiency in PLC programming using Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Mitsubishi, or Omron platforms.
  • Experience with HMI/SCADA systems design and integration (e.g., Wonderware, Ignition, WinCC).
  • Strong understanding of industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, Ethernet/IP, Profibus).
  • Knowledge of motion control, VFDs (Variable Frequency Drives), and other field devices.
  • Hands-on experience in commissioning and troubleshooting control systems in industrial environments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and clients.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with robotics and motion control integration.
  • Knowledge of functional safety standards (e.g., SIL, ISO 13849).
  • Familiarity with Industry 4.0 and IIoT technologies.
  • Certification in Automation or Controls (e.g., ISA CAP).
