Seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Engineer with leadership experience to drive process improvements on the production floor. The role involves building test fixtures, identifying efficiencies, and collaborating with test operators to enhance workflows. Ideal candidates will have experience with laser machines or a machine shop background (without being strictly a machinist), as well as strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, cost reduction, and process optimization.
This position is ideal for an engineer who enjoys both technical challenges and engaging with teams on the production floor.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process Development: Design, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes, tools, and equipment to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
- Troubleshooting: Address production challenges, including equipment issues and quality concerns, collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve them.
- Project Management: Lead or assist in manufacturing projects such as new product introductions, equipment upgrades, and facility improvements.
- Data Analysis: Monitor and analyze production data using methodologies like Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing to drive process improvements.
- Equipment Maintenance: Ensure equipment functionality and coordinate with maintenance teams to minimize downtime.
- Collaboration: Partner with R&D, quality, and production teams to integrate new products and support design modifications.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed records of processes and improvements, adhering to regulatory and company standards.
- Compliance: Ensure all processes meet safety, environmental, and quality regulations.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
- Experience: 3–7 years in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in SolidWorks, PDM, Microsoft Office, GD&T, and metrology methods. Knowledge of laser/TIG welding, CNC machining, and electromechanical assembly.
- Process Improvement: Experience in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and automation preferred.
- Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration abilities.
- Preferred: Familiarity with QMS, ISO 9001 & 17025, and Six Sigma/Lean certifications.
