On-Call Musician

The musician participates at EFCC by playing a musical instrument or singing for Sunday worship services or other scheduled events, including related rehearsals.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following :
- Create a welcoming atmosphere, inviting everyone present (including members of the congregation and less experienced musicians on the platform) to draw closer, engaging in the act of worship in a safe, participatory environment.
- Play assigned music, relying on both strong sight-reading skills and adequate preparation, including marking music in accordance with rehearsal instructions (roadmap).
- Manage schedule and performance commitments for rehearsals, Sunday worship services, or special events.
- Arrive on time, fully prepared.
- Work with other musicians under the direction of the conductor or leader to perform a wide range of musical styles.
- Maintain and tune instruments.
- Use Planning Center Online (PCO) to respond to scheduling requests and to access music and other rehearsal resources.
Time Commitment:
Varies, depending on event and rehearsal schedule requirements.
Qualifications:
- Familiarity with and affirmation of Christian life and practice
- Ability to perform the music required.
- Ability to be a flexible team player, showing honor and respect to others.
- Familiarity with Planning Center Online, the app used for accepting assignments, downloading printable music, and conducting other communication.
