This position requires a candidate who possess a Paralegal Certificate or a BA Degree with a minimum of three years of work experience as a Paralegal preferred.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • 3 years' experience in a Law Firm setting as a Paralegal.
  • Civil litigation or asbestos defense experience preferred.
  • Paralegal Certification or BA Degree required.
  • Experience working on cases from start to finish, from the first filing, up to & including trial support.
  • Experience working on cases with multiple defendants and expedited trial dates.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Excellent organizational and time management, research, and analytical skills.
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to prioritize and proactively manage a large caseload.
  • Must have ability to work well independently, as well as be part of a team.
  • Must be able to multi-task and be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must know e-filing systems, including but not limited to LexisNexis and Pacer.

Job Duties:

  • Review, prepare and draft pleadings.
  • Review and draft discovery.
  • Prepare document productions.
  • Trial preparation and support.
  • Court filings and cite checking.
  • e-discovery and e-filings.
  • Organizing exhibits and reproducing records.
  • Identifying relevant documents.
  • Any and all other Paralegal duties requested by the supervising Attorney.

Job Type:

  • Full-time

Experience and Requirements:

  • Paralegal: 3+ years (Preferred)
  • BA Degree or Paralegal Certification (Required)

The good faith, annualized salary range for this position is $70,000 to $110,000 depending on the candidate's overall experience along with additional job-related factors permitted by law such as education, training, asbestos defense backgrounds, and other responsibilities. The annual salary range listed is just one component of DeHay & Elliston's total compensation and benefits package which includes a discretionary bonus, paid leave, health, dental, and life & disability insurance; in addition to our 401 (k) plan.
