Job DescriptionJob Description

Cook duties and responsibilities.

Cooks are responsible for preparing food that is not only delicious and cooked to the specifications of the customer. This food also needs to meet the restaurant’s standards. As well as cleaning tasks to ensure the kitchen remains a food safe environment for creating dishes for patrons.

They have the following responsibilities:

  • Ensure ingredients and final products are fresh.
  • Check the quality and freshness of ingredients.
  • Follow recipes, including measuring, weighing, and mixing ingredients.
  • Bake, grill, or fry meats and other foods
  • Present, garnish and arrange final dishes attractively.
  • Occasionally serve food.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area, including handling utensils, equipment, and dishes.
  • Handle and store ingredients and food.
  • Washing, chopping, and sorting ingredients like fruits, vegetables, and meats.
  • Labeling and stocking all ingredients on easily accessible shelves
  • Maintain food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Cleaning dishes, washing cooking utensils and cookware, taking out the trash and sanitizing kitchen
  • Set up workstations with required ingredients and equipment.
  • Monitor inventory levels of all products used in production of food and collaborating with other kitchen and management staff to order resupply.
  • Completing all tasks on the prep list from the kitchen manager.
  • ASSIST BATENDERS AND SERVERS WHEN EXTRA ASSISTANCE IS NEEDED DURING OR AFTER KITCHEN HOURS.

 

  • SUPERVISOR: THE KITCHEN/DAY MANAGER OR CLOSING BARTENDER
