Speech Therapist

Position Summary:
The Speech Therapist will assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders in individuals across various age groups. This role is responsible for developing customized treatment plans, conducting therapy sessions, and collaborating with other healthcare and educational professionals to help clients achieve their communication goals.
Responsibilities:
- Assess and diagnose speech, language, and swallowing disorders using a range of standardized tests and procedures.
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on each client’s needs, goals, and progress.
- Provide one-on-one and group therapy sessions tailored to each client's abilities and goals.
- Educate clients, families, and caregivers on strategies and exercises to support therapy goals.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of professionals, including physical therapists, occupational therapists, teachers, and medical staff, to support comprehensive care.
- Document client progress and maintain accurate records in compliance with regulatory and clinic policies.
- Stay current with best practices, research, and new methods within speech-language pathology to ensure high-quality, evidence-based care.
- Conduct screenings and workshops, as needed, for community outreach and education.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Valid New York state licensure or certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP).
- Must have a valid drivers license and reliable means of transportation.
- Must be willing to see patients after 3pm EST.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA is preferred.
- Experience with [specific patient population, e.g., pediatrics, adults, geriatrics, or those with specific conditions like autism, stroke, etc.] is a plus.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team.
