Position Summary:
Based in our Stamford office, the Bone Densitometry Technologist performs diagnostic Dexa procedures, reviews necessary documentation related to the procedure and performs related clinical duties such as X-ray and/or Mammography.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Demonstrated interest in meeting patient needs and assuring patient satisfaction.
- Operating knowledge of radiographic equipment.
- Performs all bone density procedures including X-ray and or mammography.
- Reviews all necessary documentation to perform diagnostic procedures.
- Performs preventative visual and manual inspections for room and equipment assigned ensuring appropriate maintenance and cleanliness.
- Performs related clinical and clerical duties associated with the patient procedure.
- Assists in the managing of procedures through the coordination of resources, to facilitate optimal efficiency. Assures that the procedures performed are in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Performs warm up calibration procedures necessary to ready the equipment for patient imaging.
- Assists in the procurement of necessary supplies.
- Informs the manager of any equipment needing repair to ensure prompt service.
- Contributes to a positive climate and open communication for a team approach.
- Maintains certification and licensure as well as continuing education.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Demonstrate commitment to excellence in patient care and exceptional customer service.
- Knowledge of radiographic equipment.

- Computer background with application understanding, especially RIS/PACS software knowledge.
- Strong desire to learn and eager to take on new responsibilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced, highly professional environment.
Educational Requirements:
- College degree preferred
- ARRT (RT)(R) and CT State License required
- ARRT (RT)(R)(M)(BD) preferred
