POSITION SUMMARY

The Lead Data Solutions Architect is responsible for designing and managing data architecture, implementing data warehousing solutions, extracting and integrating data from multiple systems, and applying data modeling techniques. This role centralizes data into a unified repository, creates complex reports and dashboards for actionable insights, and ensures high data quality and system performance. It is crucial for enhancing data-driven decision-making, improving operational efficiency, and supporting regulatory compliance.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Design and Develop Data Architecture: Create and maintain a robust data architecture framework that supports the organization's data warehousing, integration, analytics, and future data needs.

2. Implement Data Warehousing Solutions: Establish and manage a centralized data warehouse to integrate data from multiple systems and ensure a unified and accessible data repository.

3. Extract, Integrate, and Model Data: Perform data extraction, integration, and modeling tasks to consolidate information, optimize data structures, and ensure effective analysis and reporting.

4. Develop and Execute Data Management Strategy: Create and implement a comprehensive data management strategy, including governance, quality, security, and lifecycle management, to ensure data consistency and reliability.

5. Leverage Cloud Solutions for Big Data: Design and deploy cloud-based solutions for big data storage, processing, and analytics, ensuring scalability, security, and cost-effectiveness.

6. Produce Reports and Dashboards: Generate and maintain standardized reports and interactive dashboards to provide actionable insights and support data-driven decision-making.

7. Monitor Data Quality and System Performance: Continuously oversee and improve data quality, system performance, and reliability, addressing issues as they arise.

8. Provide Technical Expertise and Guidance: Serve as a technical advisor, offering guidance on tools, processes, and design for data-related projects across the organization.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Management Information Systems, Data Science, Cybersecurity, or related field.

EXPERIENCE

Minimum of 4 years of experience in data management, data warehousing, data integration, data modeling, ETL processes, and data analytics.

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

CompTIA Security+ (Required)

Valid Texas Driver’s License (Required)

Relevant certifications such as Certified Data Management Professional (Preferred)

Additional IT, Cybersecurity, or Project Management Certifications (Preferred)

 

KNOWLEDGE

In-depth understanding of data warehousing concepts, architecture, and implementation.

Comprehensive knowledge of ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, tools, and techniques for data integration.

Expertise in data modeling methodologies and best practices for designing and optimizing data structures.

Proficiency in various database management systems (DBMS) such as SQL Server, Oracle, and others.

Strong grasp of data analytics, including statistical analysis, predictive modeling, and data visualization.

Familiarity with business intelligence (BI) tools like Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms for creating reports and dashboards.

Knowledge of programming languages such as SQL, Python, or R for data manipulation and analysis.

Familiarity with big data technologies and frameworks.

Knowledge of secure development principles and the application of cybersecurity in a data management and/or cloud environment.

GUIDANCE RECEIVED

Typically receives general direction about assignments and work results to be attained. Requires judgment to determine which methods apply and what data/information should be considered. The position must think through how issues can be addressed within existing policies and procedures and may assist others with more complex work methods and problems.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Primarily a sedentary, office-based role. Physical demands are minimal.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS

Standard office setting.

The standard 40-hour workweek, Monday through Friday, with occasional extended hours as project deadlines or urgent tasks required.
