Gilded Acorn at The First National Center is seeking Cooks to join our team

The primary responsibilities of the Cook involve exemplary food quality and cleanliness. Cooks will also be responsible for effectively communicating with FOH staff and Manager on duty.

Cooks at Gilded Acorn will be hired on the basis of good and moral character and a desire to create quality products for our customers.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for food quality and control

  • Clean and maintain the kitchen and expo area at all times

  • Adhere to uniform policy

  • Coordinate with FOH staff

  • Prep list complete as assigned

  • Daily and weekly deep cleaning duties executed

  • Coordinate with bussers on duty

  • Catering duties as assigned

  • Timeliness and professionalism at all times

  • Performs all duties assigned by the Manager

  • Performs work area clean up and safety related duties

  • Effective communication throughout shifts.

  • Takes instructions from supervisor

Equipment/Machinery/Tools:

  • Non-slip close-toe shoes

  • Wine key

  • Ovens

  • Ranges and ventilation

  • Food processors

  • Mixers

  • Slicers

  • Food prep counters and cutting boards

  • Freezers and refrigerators

  • Safety equipment

License Requirements:

  • Food Handlers

  • Former kitchen experience

Education and Training:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • Ability to read, write and speak English

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work a minimum of 35 hours per week

  • Can stand and walk or sit depending on specific needs of the day. Estimate 95% of time is spent on feet

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, meet deadlines and multi-task

  • Ability to lift 25-50 Lbs.

  • Perform duties under pressure and meet deadlines in a timely manner

  • Have occasional need to perform the following physical activities:

  • Bend/stoop/squat

  • Reach over your shoulder

  • Grasp/grip/turn machinery to perform daily tasks

  • Perform duties under pressure and meet deadlines in a timely manner

Compensation:
