We are seeking a talented Psychiatric Mental Health NP to join our corrections health team.
In this role, you will provide comprehensive behavioral health care to adults and youth in custody.
Responsibilities include:
- Performing health assessments, mental status exams, and clinical procedures
- Diagnosing and treating acute and chronic psychiatric conditions
- Prescribing and managing medications
- Providing brief counseling and psychoeducation
- Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests
- Developing treatment plans and making referrals
- Leading group therapy sessions
- Consulting with primary care providers and staff
- Maintaining thorough documentation
Providing Short and long-term psychiatric services and supportive psychotherapy for the spectrum of individuals in custody, many experiencing serious psychiatric illness, homelessness, trauma, substance use, and institutionalization.
Community referrals, consultation, and collaboration with multidisciplinary peers.
Providing integrated psychiatric care to 3 large primary care clinics whom provide quality and equitable care to the most vulnerable. Including integrated support and consultations to 15+ primary care providers and teams.
Providing collaborative and comprehensive mental health care not limited to: Psychiatric assessments, medication management, education, assessing safety and connecting clients to appropriate level of care, crisis intervention, and having the opportunity to establish therapeutic relationships with a diverse population, which included large refugee population with complex psychiatric conditions.
Position Requirements:
- Master's degree in Nursing
- Active PMHNP license and board certification
- 1-4 years experience in role
- Prescriptive authority through the state
- DEA registration
- BLS/CPR certification
- Clear background check
Available shifts: Day (7am-4pm), Evening (3:30pm -12am), Night (12am-8am). This is open for full-time and part-time hours depending on your availability from Monday through Sunday.
As a newly hired PMHNP you will receive a signing bonus of $2,500 prorated based on FTE (0.8 FTE and higher will not be pro rated). This bonus will be paid in one lump sum on the next regularly scheduled pay date after you start employment. Furthermore, there will be a retention bonus of $2,000 prorated based on FTE (0.8 FTE and higher will not be prorated) after one year of continuous regular employment. This signing bonus is taxable, and all regular payroll taxes will be withheld.
Health Department
As a newly hired Nurse practitioner you will receive a:
- up to $20,000 retention incentive after (1) one year of continuous regular employment.
- up to $20,000 retention incentive after (2) two years of continuous regular employment.
- up to $20,000 retention incentive after (3) two years of continuous regular employment.
All retention incentive bonuses are based on FTE (0.8 FTE and higher will not be prorated) This retention incentive is taxable, and all regular payroll taxes will be withheld.
- Premiums: Health Nurses receive an additional 10% hourly premium and hourly differentials for working swing ($2.50/hr), graveyard ($5.50/hr), weekends ($3.50/hr) shifts.
- Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners also receive a 10% Hourly Premium.
Salary Range:
Salary range noted here includes both the 10% hourly Nursing Premium and the 10% hourly Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Premium:
$71.71 - $91.72
