Job Summary
As a Die Cutter, you will operate machinery to cut out parts to a specified size and shape, and will perform scoring and face cutting on a variety of materials either sheet or roll-to-roll.
What You’ll Do…
- Obtains production dies.
- Performs routine maintenance on press and feeder including lubrication and minor repairs.
- Sharpens cutting edges of dies.
- Inserts die board in chase, align, and lock-up. Positions chase in press.
- Adjusts guide, fingers, gauge pins, and grippers for die cutting.
- Fits rubber to steel rule, place make-ready sheets under jacket and adjust guides, gauge pins, fingers, and grippers for face cutting.
- Runs proof samples and secures supervisor's approval for production run.
- Measures or compares parts with standard to verify conformance to specifications.
- Starts press, adjusts speed, adjusts feeder or feeds sheets, and removes cut parts from die or bed of machine.
- May be required to change die rubber.
- Maintains cleanliness of work area and equipment.
- Performs all other duties assigned
What You’ll Bring…
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED): or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Die Cutter Experience: Clamshell
- Printing Shop Experience
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
