We are seeking a skilled and innovative Product Development Mgr.to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting our team in designing, developing, and optimizing products from concept through production. As a Product Manager, collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, manufacturing, and quality assurance, to ensure that our products meet high standards of performance, reliability, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Product Development: Lead the design, development, and refinement of products, ensuring they meet specifications, quality standards, and cost targets.
  • Prototyping and Testing: Work with our internal team and outside vendors to create and evaluate prototypes, conduct testing to validate product concepts, and refine designs based on test results and feedback.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including design, manufacturing, and marketing, to align product development with customer needs and market demands.
  • Vendor Negotiations: solicit pricing from our domestic and foreign vendors on new products and/or existing products with some upgrades
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for improving product design and manufacturing processes to enhance quality, reduce costs, and increase efficiency.
  • Documentation: Prepare detailed engineering documentation, including design specifications, technical drawings, and testing reports.
  • Quality Assurance: Collaborate with the quality assurance team to establish testing protocols and ensure products meet all regulatory and quality standards.
  • Project Management: Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Customer Support: Provide technical support to customers, addressing product-related inquiries and resolving any issues that may arise.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or a related field.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience in product engineering, product development, or a related role.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) a plus
    • Strong understanding of product lifecycle management (PLM)
    • Experience with prototyping and testing methodologies
    • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials
  • Soft Skills:
    • Strong problem-solving abilities
    • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
    • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
    • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Experience in the consumer products industry
    • Logical approach to challenges
    • Experience with Mass Merchant compliance standards (i.e. Walmart, Costco)
