Position Overview:
Join us in working with some of the highest-performing audio equipment in the industry, including models crafted by legendary designer John Curl. We are seeking a meticulous and passionate Audio Electronics Technician to help maintain our elite standards. This part-time, contract position will involve testing, evaluating, and ensuring the performance, functionality and aesthetic quality of high-end audio units. Ideal for a professional who loves working with premier audio gear and is committed to delivering exceptional quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Precision Testing: Perform initial and post-repair performance and functional tests using an Audio Precision AP515x to ensure every unit meets exacting quality standards.
  • Documentation: Maintain thorough records of diagnostics, testing results, and any actions taken, ensuring a high level of traceability and accountability.
  • Soldering and Cold Solder Repairs: Employ advanced SN63 soldering skills (surface mount not required) for occasional component replacement (mostly Switches and Relays) contributing to the durability and reliability of each unit.
  • Aesthetic Care: Handle units with utmost care to maintain the flawless look and feel our customers expect, paying extra attention to cosmetic preservation throughout the testing process.
  • Clean Work Environment: Keep a tidy, organized workspace to support quality control and maintain a safe environment for high-value equipment.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as an audio electronics technician working with high-fidelity audio equipment.
  • Understanding of  Audio Precision diagnostic capabilties, especially AP515x.
  • Expert soldering skills, particularly with SN63, with an emphasis on accuracy and precision.
  • Strong documentation skills for maintaining clear, detailed records of each unit.
  • Passion for high-end audio, with an appreciation for the legendary designs of John Curl and a keen ear for sound quality nuances.
