Location: Arlington, VA (Hybrid – 1-2 days onsite per week) 
Position Type: Full-time 

 

About the Role: 
We are seeking a highly motivated Junior Data Scientist to join our dynamic team. This role requires a passion for transforming data into actionable insights through advanced data visualization and analytics. The ideal candidate will have experience with tools like Tableau, Power BI, and other visualization platforms, as well as strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 

As a Junior Data Scientist, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to support data-driven decision-making and deliver impactful solutions. You must be able to work onsite in Arlington, VA, 1-2 days per week, with the remainder of the work completed remotely. 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Develop, design, and maintain interactive dashboards and visualizations using Tableau and Power BI. 

  • Analyze and interpret complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights. 

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver customized solutions. 

  • Perform data wrangling, cleaning, and transformation to prepare data for analysis. 

  • Create clear, concise, and compelling data visualizations to communicate findings to both technical and non-technical audiences. 

  • Support the deployment and optimization of data analytics solutions across various business units. 

  • Work with databases and query tools to extract and manipulate data as needed. 

 

Required Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field. 

  • 1+ years of professional experience in data analysis, visualization, or a similar role (internships or academic projects may count). 

  • Proficiency in Tableau and/or Power BI, including building dashboards and visualizations. 

  • Strong analytical skills and experience working with large datasets. 

  • Proficiency in SQL and familiarity with data manipulation tools. 

  • Understanding of basic statistical concepts and predictive analytics techniques. 

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to convey technical insights to a non-technical audience. 

  • Willingness to work onsite in Arlington, VA, 1-2 days per week. 

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience with Python or R for data analysis and modeling. 

  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud). 

  • Exposure to machine learning techniques and frameworks.

    Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

    Compensation and Benefits
    Salary Range: $40-45 hourly (Compensation is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, work experience, skills, education, certifications, seniority, and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.)
