Essential Job Duties
Inspector, Deputy Building:
- Candidates with ICC and LADBS deputy certifications highly desired and will be expected to perform the work as required per the specialties licenses and certifications they possess.
- Familiarity and experience to inspect construction of public works buildings, LAWA's prescriptive requirements.
- Experience and knowledge in the following disciplines, but not limited to: demolition, clearing and grubbing, soils classification, trenching and excavations, reviewing and enforcing shoring requirements, airport ramp renovations and modifications, passenger boarding bridge removal and installations, baggage handling systems, rebar and concrete placement, structural systems metal stud and drywall.
Deputy Inspector:
- Inspection of structural steel building frame welding and bolting.
- Proficient in AWS D1.8 requirements. Must be able to work from heights and from suspended beam floats for majority of workday.
- Fall protection training and safety harness required.
- Overtime during week and Saturday will be possible when needed as part of the team.
- Night shift is also possible for portion of the project.
- LA City SSW Deputy Inspector license required, Seismic requirements knowledge and DIA LA City Deputy license will be a plus.
- Ability to write clear and effective reports and is capable of working with Microsoft Office and other computer software and applications including Prolog & VEO
Minimum Education Level:
- High school diploma (or equivalent)
Professional Licenses & Certifications:
- "Valid Los Angeles City Department of Building and Safety (LADBS) license for the scope of work being inspected; have a thorough knowledge of building construction practices, and be experienced in one or more of the expertise areas listed below: -Reinforced concrete -Reinforced masonry -Structural Steel and Welding -Prestressed Concrete Controlled Activities: -Sprayed Applied Fireproofing -Drilled-in-Anchors -Shotcrete Soils/Grading -Seismic Resistance
- 30-hour Cal-OSHA training prior to assignment. The 30-hour training will have been received within the last 4 years."
Minimum Years and Experience:
- 5 years or more of experience performing as a LADBS Deputy Building Inspector large scale type projects
