Located in Charleston, South Carolina, we specialize in full service commercial plumbing with a focus on new construction and commercial renovation. Additional work including LP/Natural gas piping, Medical upfits and site services

Southland Group has an immediate need for a self-motivated and Experienced Plumber in the Charleston area. The successful candidate must be able to work efficiently, independently and with great attention to detail. Potential candidates should have exceptional multi-tasking skills, be organized and able to perform tasks in a construction environment. This is a Full-time, at-will position. Must be available to work full 8 hour shifts Monday - Friday and the occasional weekend day.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform plumbing related tasks with a focus on quality of workmanship and per-job specifications.
  • Provide effective verbal and written communication of job status updates and progress reports.
  • Use, apply, and monitor appropriate jobsite safety measures.
  • Utilize provided technology to create documentation of work performed, track hours and provide this data to management.
  • Works independently with little supervision in the completion of assignments with 95% of time spent in the field.
  • Participate and attend all scheduled department and jobsite meetings.

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must have 2+ years Commercial Plumbing Experience.
  • Candidate must demonstrate general knowledge of plumbing repair and installations and uses good judgement addressing areas believed to be of immediate concern or potential future concerns.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and communicate effectively with customers, coworkers, and supervisors.
  • Ability to work with all types of people in varying conditions.
  • Capable of working independently.
  • Ability to read and understand plumbing drafted plans, job instructions and repair work orders. This will include engineered drawings and schematics.
  • Knowledge of plumbing repair and installation hand tools and be able to demonstrate proficient and safe use of these tools.
  • Self-motivated, punctual, detail oriented and able to work independently.
  • Must possess a valid state (any) driver's license
  • Must be eligible for employment in the US.
  • Ability to utilize Basic technology necessary for construction industry (cell phone, tablet, email, view PDFs, open computer files).

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT

  • The duties of this position are performed in a variety of environments, including outdoors, field environments and work sites on uneven and rough terrain.
  • Required to work in outside weather conditions, including heat, cold, and temperature swings, for extended periods of time.
  • Standing up to 8 hours per day; Walking up to 8 hours per day on uneven, difficult terrain.
  • Occasional heavy manual labor to include lifting and carrying up to 55 pounds.
  • Regular and repetitive grasping, gripping, reaching, bending, stooping, crouching, climbing, squatting, kneeling, and working overhead.
  • Frequently works in closed or cramped spaces.

Pay: $44, $75,000.00 per year
