Position Type: Direct Hire
Location: Fully Automated Distribution Center
Compensation: $31-$34/hour + $2/hour shift differential
Sign-On Bonus: $2,500

Shift: Sunday - Thursday, 5:00 PM - 1:30 AM
Note: Split shifts, nights, weekends, and on-call availability required to respond to downtime events.

Role Overview

As an Industrial Control Technician I, you will play a crucial role in maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing automated equipment in a state-of-the-art distribution center. This position involves diagnosing and repairing electrical and mechanical systems, maintaining facility equipment, and ensuring seamless operational functionality through preventive maintenance and system upgrades.

Key Responsibilities

  • Electrical and Mechanical Maintenance:

    • Diagnose and repair single and three-phase electrical systems up to 600 volts.
    • Test and repair AC/DC motors, power supplies, frequency drives, servo drives, motor starters, proximity sensors, encoders, and photo eyes.
    • Utilize and troubleshoot programmable logic controllers (PLCs), HMI systems, and associated inputs/outputs.

  • Preventative Maintenance:

    • Execute and optimize preventative maintenance plans for facility systems and materials handling equipment (MHE).

  • System Testing and Troubleshooting:

    • Perform testing of electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, refrigeration, and water treatment systems.
    • Utilize computer systems and software (e.g., RSLogix, Sort Director, GSMi, IPoint, Flex Sort) for diagnostics and repairs.

  • Documentation and Reporting:

    • Read and interpret CAD layouts, wiring diagrams, electrical schematics, and PLC ladder/block logic.
    • Maintain records of equipment testing, diagnostics, and repairs in a CMMS environment.

  • Collaboration:

    • Partner with vendors on equipment specifications and upgrades.
    • Assist in managing inventory of spare parts and coordinate maintenance projects.
    • Support training and development of Maintenance Support Specialists.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Technical vocational training or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience:

  • 1-2 years: Related experience with a strong electrical background preferred.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to test and maintain systems, including electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment.
  • Experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), HMI systems, and MHE software.
  • Strong technical knowledge of computer hardware and software, including MS Office Suite.
  • Analytical skills for resolving issues effectively and efficiently.

Preferred Knowledge:

  • PLC programming and configuration experience.
  • Familiarity with RSLogix, Sort Director, GSMi, IPoint, and Flex Sort software.
