Freight Dispatcher

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Search for available freight via load boards and established customer programs.
• Negotiate freight rates with customers and brokers.
• Strategically plan loads and direct drivers on loads while minimizing costs and ensuring on-time delivery to customers.
• Provide daily, accurate updates of location and ETA.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and DOT/FMCSA regulations.
• Negotiate with drivers on specific lanes to ensure profitability for both the drivers and the company.
• Submit and enter all required paperwork into the transportation management system accurately to ensure timely driver payments and invoicing.
• Promote a positive company culture, fostering driver satisfaction and customer excellence.

Qualifications:

• Excellent communication and phone etiquette.

• Strong organizational skills to coordinate dispatch activities efficiently.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous transportation industry knowledge preferred but not required.
