Overview:
Carie Boyd’s is searching for a reliable pharmacist to assist our customer service department with product questions from patients, clients, and potential clients. This person will also be assisting the marketing department in ensuring all marketing material and social media posts are compliant and informative. When not working in the customer service department, the pharmacist will allocate their talents to our quality department to address new product development. This is a full time, in office position, M-F between the hours of 9 am and 6 pm.

Principal Responsibilities:

· Maintain confidential information (i.e. HIPAA Compliant) and properly manage controlled medication along with required documentation

· Consulting patients, nurses, physicians and other healthcare professionals regarding medication therapy, store capabilities, drug-related information and literature

· Reviewing and revising marketing, website, and social media content for pharmaceutical and clinical accuracy

· Preparing whitepapers on relevant topics

· Creating marketing content (e.g., videos, approving marketing material)

· Training sales and customer service team members on the company’s products

· Assisting in new product development

· Resolve professional problems related to the interpretation of medication order and provide resolution to customer service complaints

· Ensure compliance with 21 CFR Part 11, USP 795 & 797, Company Policies and Procedures, State boards and Federal Regulatory bodies

· Develop effective and safe sterile and non-sterile formulations, validate each process, and be able to oversee compounding of said formulations

· Assist in the maintenance of inventory records and controls as required; in the taking of inventories, in the maintenance of adequate stock, and in the receiving of drugs and supplies

. Assist in the creation and implementation of training modules for members of the sales department

Other:

· Act in the capacity of fill-in pharmacist at other store location(s) if needed and be flexible with the assigned schedule

· Support senior leadership and PIC in activities within the pharmacy such as SOP development or expansion, implementation of new software, customer complaint related calls, and R&D committee related tasks

Professional Development:

· Responds to management questions, comments and concerns in a timely manner and ensures that any special circumstances are communicated and addressed in a proactive and positive manner

· Develop in areas relating to compounding including therapies associated with compounded products, regulatory issues (state and federal regulations, USP chapters 795, 797 and 800), and other areas to improve personal knowledge of profession

· Keeps an open mind to learning new processes such as automated systems and develop a cGMP-oriented outlook, always assesses each situation based on policies and scientific justification if needed, performs and documents risk analysis, initiates and complete CAPAs and Deviations as needed.

 

Education: Degree in Pharmacy or PharmD Degree, Sterile Compounding Certification, Current Texas pharmacist license in good standing.

Scope: Respects and maintains the confidentiality of information. Adheres to all policies, procedures and compliance guidelines. Works with minimal direction, consults with leadership as needed.

Experience: Comprehensive knowledge in Compounded Medications is required, Sterile Compounding certification preferred, Microsoft Excel and Word Experience, Experience with The PK Software, SalesForce, Computer RX, Instant GMP a plus.

Skills: Demonstrate problem-solving aptitude necessary for the dispensing action; Ability to work independently and as a part of a team, organized and have the ability to schedule their time in an efficient manner; be able to communicate effectively with other health care professionals and patients; capable of meeting the requirements as specified for the staff pharmacist position.
