We are seeking a skilled Journeyman Pipefitter to install, assemble, fabricate, and maintain piping systems for industrial, commercial, and residential projects. The ideal candidate will have experience working with a variety of pipes (e.g., copper, steel, plastic) and systems such as heating, cooling, steam, and hydraulic. This role requires precise measuring, cutting, and threading of pipes, and a strong understanding of blueprints, safety regulations, and local codes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Pipe Installation: Install and repair piping systems used for steam, water, gas, and chemicals.
• Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and specifications to determine layout of piping systems.
• Pipe Fabrication: Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipes to the required angle using hand tools, machines, or power tools.
• Welding and Brazing: Assemble and weld pipe sections, supports, and related equipment, following all safety guidelines.
• System Testing: Conduct pressure tests on piping systems to identify leaks and troubleshoot issues.
• Safety Compliance: Follow all safety standards, OSHA regulations, and local codes to ensure proper installation and function.
• Troubleshooting: Inspect systems to detect problems, and repair or replace defective parts when necessary.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and hours worked for each project.
• Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and repair tools, equipment, and machinery required for the job.

Requirements:

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: At least 1-5 years of experience as a pipefitter in an industrial or commercial environment.
• Licensure/Certification: Certified pipefitter or journeyman-level certification preferred. Welding certification is a plus.
• Technical Skills:
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and piping schematics.
  • Knowledge of pipe materials (steel, copper, plastic) and joining techniques.
  • Experience using pipefitting tools and equipment (e.g., pipe threaders, cutters, welding torches).
  • Must be knowledgeable of welding, threading, cutting, brazing, & solvent weld type materials.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy materials, work in confined spaces, and work at heights. Must be able to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues with piping systems efficiently.
• Communication Skills: Good verbal communication skills to interact with team members and supervisors.
• Time management Skills: Have the ability to meet project deadlines

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working on large industrial projects (e.g., refineries, power plants).
• Familiarity with complex systems like HVAC, chemical piping, or food processing plants.
• Specialized training in advanced pipe welding techniques.

Work Environment:

• Work Hours: Full-time position, with occasional overtime during peak project periods.
• Job Sites: Work is performed both indoors and outdoors, often in challenging weather conditions.
• Safety Gear: Required to wear appropriate safety gear, such as helmets, gloves, and protective clothing.
