Job DescriptionJob DescriptionPOSITION SUMMARY:
Per Diem position. Performs radiographic procedures at a level that does not require direct supervision over technical detail. Performs and assists in a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment, good knowledge of anatomy, positioning and a thorough technical knowledge of equipment. Assumes responsibility for a designated area as required.
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:
- High School diploma or GED equivalent.
- Must pass the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) National Board, and have a State of Connecticut License to practice Radiographic technical procedures or receive within 3 months of graduation.
- On an on-going basis the incumbent must obtain the mandatory number of continued educational units (CEU’s) needed to maintain the currency of state licensure.
- Must be able to work independently.
- Must have a complete working knowledge in the principals of physics, anatomy, medical terminology, and radiation protection as it relates to Radiology practice.
COMPETENCIES:
- Must have the ability to speak, read and write using the English language.
- The incumbent needs advanced math skills in physics in order to understand and set the level of radiologic exposure to the patient and themselves for the process.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs all routine radiographic procedures according to department standards, protocols and guidelines required by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and the State of Connecticut.
- Provides proper clinical patient care while performing diagnostic procedures.
- Provides careful critique and assessment over the image quality.
- Exhibits accuracy in computer documentation.
- Maintains stock levels and personal protection equipment of assigned stations.
- Exhibits constant awareness of infection control standards.
- Works cooperatively to accomplish a task as a member of the team.
Pay: $35.00 - $45.00 per hour
