Hilliard, Ohio Company Seeking Paint Line Technician

Acloche is hiring for a great company in the West Columbus area A fire truck company seeking a Paintline in Hilliard.
Shift: Monday-Thursday, 5:00am - 3:30pm with overtime Fridays.
Pay: $17/hr- $19 based on exp
Primary Functions:
- Sub-coatings and finish coatings are applied to all metal components and finished products.
- Fulfill all painting requirements, including painting parts and painting the entire vehicle, both in solid and metallic colors.
- Mix all products according to specifications.
- Check all painted materials for proper surface condition, paint preparations, and repair as required.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform spot-in repairs.
- Sand paint finish and use compounds and operate polisher.
- Mix coatings with thinner and catalyst to correct mixture, using color mixture equipment.
- Apply coatings with all types of spray equipment to meet coverage and gloss standards. Be able to correct errors in application of all types of coatings.
- Paint the parts and understand the acceptable quality of finish.
- Clean and inspect parts prior to painting.
- Follow all procedures for a quality, lasting paint finish.
- Be able to mix and spray all products used.
- Help train other painters both in production and quality.
- Other duties and responsibilities as required.
Experience:
Must have good eye for detail. Previous experience in Body Paint required(2-3 years minimum).
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Remove dust and other debris from surfaces in preparation for paint application, using abrasives, solvents, brushes, blowtorches, washing tanks, or sandblasters.
- Mask or tape off details and components that are not to be painted.
- Fill cavities and dents to create an even surface.
- Sand, fill and chisel vehicle as part of its preparation.
- Select proper colors and substances for the project.
- Determine the necessary application of paint for a thorough coat.
- Check for runs or sags in the paint to ensure a quality product.
- Pour paint into spray guns and adjust nozzles and paint mixtures for proper paint flow and coating thickness.
- Disassemble, clean, and reassemble sprayers and power equipment using solvents, wire brushes, and cloths for cleaning duties.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Vehicle painting experience
- Some Press Brake Experience, preferably on a CNC controlled press brake, Trumpf equipment experience preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret documents furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule forms, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, quality manuals, and procedure manuals.
