Key Responsibilities

  • Develop 3D models and detailed engineering drawings for automotive components and systems using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, AutoCAD)
  • Conduct feasibility studies, simulations, and testing to ensure designs meet functional and performance specifications.
  • Work closely with product management, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to incorporate design requirements and constraints.
  • Participate in design reviews, providing technical expertise and proposing innovative solutions.
  • Oversee the creation of prototypes and perform rigorous testing to validate designs under various conditions.
  • Analyze test data to refine designs and improve performance and reliability.
  • Ensure designs are optimized for manufacturability (DFM) and align with lean manufacturing principles.
  • Address and resolve design-related production issues, ensuring continuous improvement.
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation, including design specifications, change logs, and technical reports.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in design engineering within an automotive or manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., CATIA, SolidWorks, NX) and familiarity with FEA tools.
  • Knowledge of materials science, manufacturing processes (e.g., casting, machining, injection molding), and GD&T.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform root cause analysis and problem-solving.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work across disciplines.
  • Familiarity with automotive standards (e.g., ISO, TS16949) is a plus.
