Position: Senior Fabricator and Finisher 

 

Job Summary:

The Senior Fabrication Finisher is a crucial role in the development and production of Sesame Solar's innovative Mobile Nanogrid systems. This position requires a strong foundation in electrical and mechanical engineering principles, as well as hands-on experience with fabrication, assembly, and final fit and finish techniques. The ideal candidate will be a skilled craftsman with a passion for sustainable energy solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Precision Fabrication: Use a variety of metalworking tools (welders, grinders, drills, etc.) and woodworking equipment (saws, routers, planers, etc.) to cut, shape, and assemble components with exacting precision.
  • Expert Finishing: Apply your expertise in finishing techniques, such as painting, and other surface treatments to metal and wood to create durable and aesthetically pleasing products.
  • Quality Assurance: Inspect finished products for defects and ensure they meet stringent quality standards.
  • Continuous Improvement: Contribute ideas for improving product design, and finishing techniques.
  • Attention to Detail: A keen eye for precision and accuracy.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Physical Fitness: The ability to lift heavy objects and work in a standing position for extended periods.
  • Positive Attitude: A team-oriented mindset and a willingness to learn.

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in metal fabrication and finishing, preferably in industries such as RV, trailer, or modular home manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical principles.
  • Proficiency in using various fabrication tools and equipment, including welding machines, cutting tools, and electrical testing instruments.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality, ensuring that all components meet the highest standards.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, collaborating effectively with engineers, technicians, and other team members.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively communicating technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with trailer, RV and/or Container modifications and customizations.
  • Certification in relevant fields (e.g., welding).

Additional Skills Desired:
--Ability to lift moderate weight (up to 40 lbs)
--Ability to drive a forklift

 

Common For All - 

Hours are Mon-Fri 7:30 am to 4:00 pm ET. Part-time schedule available as well. Military experienced candidates are encouraged to apply. A good fit for applicants with gaps in their resume, or who have been out of the workforce for the past 6 months or more due to Covid or other illness.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
