Position Summary
Omni Wound Physicians seeks a full-time Nurse Practitioner (NP) with expertise in wound care and feeding tube management. This role involves extensive travel within an assigned region via car or motor vehicle, delivering on-site care to patients while maintaining the highest standards in compliance, charting, and patient safety.
This is a fully on-site role, and applicants must meet all outlined qualifications to be considered.
Key Responsibilities
Advanced Wound Care Delivery
- Diagnose and manage chronic and acute wounds, including venous ulcers, pressure ulcers, and complex post-surgical wounds.
- Perform advanced procedures such as debridement, negative pressure wound therapy, and skin graft applications.
- Track and document wound healing progress meticulously for compliance and patient records.
Feeding Tube Services
- Conduct feeding tube placements, maintenance, and replacements with a focus on safety and patient comfort.
- Educate patients and caregivers on proper feeding tube care and troubleshooting techniques.
- Collaborate with supervising physicians for advanced procedures requiring imaging or multidisciplinary input.
Ensuring Compliance and Accurate Charting
- Maintain thorough and accurate documentation of patient care and outcomes in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Ensure all reporting adheres to state, federal, and organizational standards, including HIPAA.
- Participate in regular chart audits and address any gaps to ensure quality and compliance.
Frequent Travel and On-Site Care Delivery
- Provide care across skilled nursing facilities, long-term care facilities, and patients’ homes where permitted.
- Travel extensively via car or motor vehicle (not air travel), ensuring prompt and professional care delivery within the assigned region.
- Utilize a company vehicle when available, with reimbursement for personal vehicle use as needed.
Collaboration and Professional Development
- Work closely with supervising physicians and interdisciplinary teams to create effective, patient-centered care plans.
- Participate in team meetings, training, and continuing education programs to stay at the forefront of wound care and feeding tube management practices.
- Ensure Patient-Centered Care Build rapport with patients and families, ensuring a compassionate and supportive bedside manner. Tailor care plans to meet individual patient needs and foster trust. Communicate effectively with patients, caregivers, and facility staff.
Qualifications (Non-Negotiable)
- Education: Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
- Licensure: Active, unrestricted NP license in California and/or Texas.
- Certification: National certification through AANP or ANCC and DEA registration to prescribe controlled substances.
- Experience: At least 2 years in wound care, feeding tube management, or related fields like Geriatrics or Family Medicine.
- Insurance: Proof of malpractice insurance or enrollment in OWP-provided coverage.
- Travel Requirements: Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for extensive travel via car.
