Established in 2020, Rialtic is supported by prominent investors such as Oak HC/FT, F-Prime Capital, Health Velocity Capital, and Noro-Moseley Partners. Our flagship payment accuracy solution centralizes previously outsourced functions, empowering health insurance companies to take full command of their operational processes. We collaborate with leading healthcare insurers and providers, addressing a critical $1 trillion challenge to reduce expenses, boost efficiency, and elevate the quality of care. Our Commitment
Rialtic champions diversity, believing our collective strength is harnessed through inclusivity. We encourage applications from individuals of all backgrounds, as part of our commitment to creating an environment where diverse perspectives are valued and nurtured.
We prioritize innovation, problem-solving, and the tangible value each team member brings to our mission. Here, you won't find rigid career ladders or title inflation — instead, we focus on creating opportunities for growth. To solve meaningful problems and make decisions that influence real change.
The Role
We're looking for a Staff Engineer with extensive software engineering experience to join our Engines & Data team. The Engines & Data team is responsible for the design, development, testing and maintenance of our healthcare policy engines, which are the heart of our cloud-native, distributed, healthcare payment integrity solution. These highly performant engines handle millions of claim lines per day while meeting service level agreements for turnaround time.
Currently written in Python and based on policies defined by our internal Clinical Content team, we continually expand the coverage of our policy engines and work to optimize performance of the existing system. As a senior member of the technical staff and a key contributor to the Engines team, you will play a critical role in building new engines in the current architecture as well as implementing new architectures and designs for extensive new functionality that supports more direct configuration by our clients and further improves performance. You will collaborate closely with software engineers and data scientists to bring predictive models into our product suite.
This position requires a customer-first, quality-oriented mindset. If you're interested in joining a data-driven organization where you will build code to parse, validate, process and manage enormous volumes of data while performing complex analyses quickly and accurately then you should apply for this position
Core Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, maintain and improve Python packages that implement healthcare policies and concepts.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and define data science and predictive analytics opportunities that align with our product roadmap
- Select, develop, train and deploy data science and predictive analytics models using Python, standard frameworks, and off-the-shelf tools that can integrate into our tech stack
- Serve as a technical lead by working with engineering team members on improvements to existing code, implementing new designs and architectures, mentoring other team members to help them grow in expertise and experience
- Influence the whole Engineering organization to adopt best practices in software development and testing, helping us all develop high-quality, scalable, testable, and maintainable code
- Collaborate with your engineering peers and build productive relationships with members of the Go-to-Market, Product Management, Clinical Content, and other teams that need our expertise to translate their requirements into coherent technical solutions
- Participate with internal and external stakeholders to understand the business logic and other requirements (such as refresh latency) for our Web-based payment integrity solution, client data warehouse exports, and one-time/ad-hoc analysis needs
What We Are Looking For
- 10+ years hands-on experience as a software developer in a professional environment and working with production systems
- 5+ years of experience working in Python and on Python applications (not Jupyter notebooks or similar), including Python dependency management, packaging and publishing tools as well as Python libraries commonly used in data science and predictive analytics.
- Relevant experience in data science and predictive analytics, including selecting, building, refining and maintaining models
- Strong belief and demonstrated capabilities in leveraging the power of testing and test automation
- Experience as technical lead in bringing software projects to completion
- Experience with shell scripting, Git and continuous integration workflows/pipelines
- Experience with SQL or similar query tools/languages
- Experience building and debugging data-rich applications
- Experience with AWS
- Strong listening and interpersonal skills. You consider yourself a lifelong learner and you are willing to read documentation, ask questions, explore and iterate to improve.
Nice-to-Haves
- Bachelor's or graduate degree in a technical field such as CS, Math, Physics or Engineering
- Experience in a professional environment with one or more compiled languages (Golang, Rust, C, C++, C#, etc.). Note that our engines are written in Python, but we work closely with other engineering teams who use a variety of languages.
- GitLab CI, Kubernetes, Docker
- Experience in healthcare IT
- Experience in a start-up environment
- Demonstrated success in a remote work environment
