Job Summary
The MRI Tech will perform diagnostic testing by effectively and efficiently completing all MRI and MRA exams.

Essential Functions of an MRI Tech
- Operate closed and open scanners.
- Interpret physician instructions, select software options and imaging parameters when adjusting an MRI machine.
- View images during exams and report anomalies to radiologists and document them.
- Properly send images to PACs and archive images; print CDs.
- Make sure comparison images are available for reading physicians.
- Communicate effectively with radiologists to determine exam protocols, etc.
- Maintain sensitivity to physical and psychological needs of patients.
- Monitor and continually communicate with patients throughout the MR exam.
- Work with Center Director to document incidents that occur at the facility.
- Screen patients for any precautions or contraindications prior to them entering the magnetic field and thoroughly research all implants, devices, etc.
- Perform daily QA for each magnet; maintain patient log; enter clinical information.
- Perform injections as needed.
- Maintain patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPPA guidelines.
- Conduct patient safety screening prior to exam.
Education and Experience
- MRI Certification
- BLS/CPR Certification
- At least 2 years of experience as an MRI Tech
- Proficiency with major MRI manufacturer equipment, GE 3T experience 1 year
