Dental Hygienist

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our team on Tuesdays. Our Tuesday hours are 8-5 with lunch from 12-1. Pay is negotiable based on experience level and could exceed the posted range for the right person.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality dental care to patients, ensuring their comfort and safety while performing a variety of dental hygiene procedures. This role requires a strong commitment to patient care, excellent communication skills, and a thorough understanding of dental practices and protocols.

Duties

• Conduct thorough dental cleanings and examinations, including scaling and polishing teeth.
• Review patient documentation and medical records to ensure accurate treatment planning.
• Take and record vital signs as part of the patient assessment process.
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and the importance of regular dental visits.
• Assist in pediatric dentistry procedures, providing care tailored to younger patients.
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and ensure patient confidentiality at all times.
• Implement infection control protocols to maintain a safe environment for both patients and staff.
• Collaborate with the dental team to provide comprehensive patient care in general dentistry settings.
• Document all treatments and procedures accurately in the patient's medical records.

Requirements

• Valid dental hygiene license in the state of practice.
• Proficiency in medical terminology related to dentistry.
• Experience in dental assisting is a plus but not mandatory.
• Strong understanding of infection control practices within a clinical setting.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages.
• Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
