Job SummaryWe are seeking a MRI TECHNOLOGIST to join our team As a MRI Technician, you will be preparing patients for their procedures by adjusting immobilization devices, moving equipment, and changing controls  to capture the required results. You will also be assisting in maintaining and cleaning radiology equipment, troubleshooting minor issues, and maintaining an inventory of daily supplies. The ideal candidate will have strong communication and interpersonal skills, prior experience working in a medical setting, and excellent attention to detail.

Job Summary

The MRI Technologist operates the magnetic resonance imaging equipment to produce images of the body for diagnostic purposes.

Duties

  1. Perform complex tasks associated with the operation of high field strength magnets and related equipment to produce special radiographic images of specific body parts.
  2. Position patients for MR scans using immobilization and protective equipment to comply with government regulations and to ensure the safety of patients and staff.
  3. Screen patients for MR safety prior to procedure performance
  4. Start I.V.’s, administer contrast media as directed and per protocol
  5. Evaluate MR scans for technical quality, collate processed images and sequence of exposure and label appropriately
  6. Schedule patients for procedures; assist with clerical functions
  7. Maintain accurate patient records
  8. Provide orientation for new technologists
  9. Provide for the psychological and physical needs of patients for MR procedures
  10. Coordinate scheduling and patient flow
  11. Assist radiologists in developing new protocols and MR imaging techniques
  12. Understand and use the EXA PACS system
  13. Perform other related duties incidental to the work therein
  14. Ensure all documentation and prior images are sent to the appropriate Radiologist 
  15. Maintains all necessary licensures. (ARRT, BLS, etc.)

Qualifications
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Certification required. MRI CERTIFICATION
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with medical charting desired
  • Strong attention to detail
