The responsibilities of the Cloud Engineer include:
- Working with our engineering team to identify and implement the most optimal cloud-based solutions for the customer.
- Planning, designing and developing cloud-based applications.
- Design architecture to include the software, hardware, and APIs to support the total requirements as well as provide for scalability, future requirements and interfaces.
- Managing cloud environments in accordance with customer security guidelines.
- Deploying and debugging cloud initiatives as needed in accordance with best practices throughout the development lifecycle.
- Training teams on the implementation of new cloud-based initiatives, providing associated training as required.
- Using your extensive knowledge of APIs to design RESTful services, and integrate them with existing data providers, using JSON or XML as needed.
- Lead and develop best practices for larger Cloud Engineer team.
- Building and designing web services in the cloud, along with implementing the set-up of geographically redundant services.
- Orchestrating and automating cloud-based platforms throughout the customer's environment.
- Evaluate analytically and systematically problems of workflows, organization, and planning and develop appropriate corrective action.
- Stay current with industry trends, making recommendations as needed to help the organization innovate and excel.
The Must-Haves: To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below
- Must currently reside in the US
- Must have a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field. Or equivalent work experience.
- 5-8+ years experience as a Cloud Engineer, or providing similar cloud engineering/architecture services
- Experience with AWS cloud services
- Extensive experience in the design and development of Client Server and Web Enabled Corporate applications including network topology.
- Experience developing Python scripts and applications
- Well versed in Object Oriented tools and techniques.
- Thorough knowledge of data modeling skills using automated tools.·
- Experience in creating and conveying to team members the architectural vision for a program or project.
- Experience in establishing and enforcing standards and practices.
- Experience overseeing the development team, he manages the full life cycle of the software development process.
- Extensive software development experience and thorough knowledge of a variety of programming languages and logic.
- Knowledge of software development and user interface web applications Familiarity with Agile frameworks and regression testing is a plus Familiarity with design/architectural patterns (e.g. Model-View-Controller (MVC))
- Familiarity with architecture styles/APIs (REST, RPC) Excellent analytical and organization skills
- An ability to understand front-end users’ requirements and a problem-solving attitude
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Skills/Experience: The experience listed below is preferred, but not required, for this job
- Experience with any of the following technologies: Salesforce, Kubernetes, Docker, Jenkins, Active Server Pages, HTML, and AWS native applications including WAF, CloudFront, DynamoDB, Transcribe, Athena, Simple Queue Service, QuikSight, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, KMS, Cognit
- Experience in web development leveraging XML and CSS
- Experience with JQuery (Javascript library) or other Javascript frameworks (such as AngularJS, NodeJS, and React)
- Experience using code repositories, preferably Git
- Experience using continuous integration tools, preferably Jenkins
- Experience with environmental regulatory business processes and practices
- Familiarity with Agile development, specifically Scrum, Extreme
- Programming (XP) and Kanban.
