Job DescriptionJob Description

Primary Job Duties:

· Basic programming modifications of PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) and HMI (Human Machine Interface) to meet project specifications.

· Panel building and modifications both in the shop and in the field

· On site system start-up and commissioning of our control systems

· Interfacing with contractors and end users

· Troubleshoot and support existing customers and installations.

 

Requirements:

· A degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or mechatronics engineering. (Relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a degree)

· Ability to understand and apply principles of both AC and DC electrical circuits, including 3 phase AC power and motors.

· Ability to learn and apply component specification, construction techniques and requirements as defined by Underwriters Laboratories Inc. 508-A and 698 specifications.

· Competent in the use of small hand tools and soldering equipment in the construction of instrumentation control panels and consoles as described by project specifications and drawings created by SFI Engineers.

· Ability to read and interpret technical specifications / drawings necessary to construct the control panels and interface to OEM sub-systems used in our automation equipment.

· Ability to learn and apply basic programming principles in PLC ladder logic across various PLC platforms.

· Construct work products that meet SFI’s requirements for construction of high-quality professionally developed systems.

· Strong, fundamental understanding of computers, networking, and the Microsoft Windows XP and 7 operating systems.

· Strong interpersonal and communication skills, and an ability to work both independently and in a team environment.

· Ability to travel up to 50%

 

The position offers work hours between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm Monday through Friday. Local travel is required to start-up, commission, service, and maintain our installations in the southeast. Weekend stays are extremely rare. A company provided vehicle will be provided for all travel and all testing equipment and required tools will be provided.

Final salary offer will be based on individual applicants skills, experience, and ability to perform the above job tasks.
