About the Role:
As the Luthier, you will be an integral part of our workshop, ensuring that our instruments meet the highest standards of quality. Your expertise in setups, repairs, and restorations will be essential in maintaining the excellence that our clients expect. While your primary focus will be on craftsmanship, you'll also play a vital role in supporting our team by providing technical insights and ensuring our workshop operates efficiently. At Payton Violins, we embrace the dynamic nature of a small business, where a positive and helpful attitude is essential. This role requires open communication and collaboration with colleagues across different functions, as well as meticulous record-keeping to ensure everyone can perform their duties effectively. Your ability to adapt and assist in various capacities will contribute to the seamless operation of our business and the exceptional service we provide to our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform Setups and Adjustments: Execute precise setups and adjustments on sale, rental, and customer instruments to ensure optimal performance.
Restoration and Repair: Conduct detailed restoration and repair work on client and in-house instruments, maintaining the highest quality standards. The ability to work on bows is a plus, but not required.
Workshop Management: Oversee the organization and cleanliness of the workshop, ensuring it is well-stocked with necessary supplies and materials.
Technical Support: Collaborate with the Payton Violins team to provide technical expertise and support customer inquiries related to instrument care and maintenance.
Quality Assurance: Ensure all instruments leaving the workshop meet Payton Violins' rigorous quality standards.
Innovation and Improvement: Contribute to the development of new techniques and processes to enhance workshop efficiency and product quality.
Support of the Sales Process: Collaborate with the sales team to provide instrument adjustments and customizations, and provide additional support when required.

Technical Expertise: Proven experience in violin making, repair, and restoration, with exceptional bench skills.
Attention to Detail: Meticulous craftsmanship and a commitment to quality in all tasks.
Adaptability: Ability to adjust to new techniques and tools, and handle varying workloads.
Customer Service Orientation: Strong communication skills to provide expert advice and support to the team and customers.
Collaboration and Teamwork: Ability to work closely with colleagues, including the Payton Violins Team, to ensure customer satisfaction.
Passion for Music: A genuine interest in music and musical instruments, contributing to a positive and inspiring work environment.
